North County Senior Connections

Resources for Seniors

North County Senior Connections provides important food and nutrition resources for seniors, operating in collaboration with Interfaith Community Services.

In 2012, nearly 20% of seniors, 1 in 5 in our community, were living close to or below the poverty level, according to the County of San Diego. Seniors like these face impossibly difficult decisions about how to allocate their scare dollars. The result is that they often go without enough to eat.

The North County Senior Connections program also provides lunch time activities that allow and encourage seniors to socialize with one another.

Free Produce

Since the program began in 2014, 225 low-income seniors received fresh produce they could take home at no cost.

Low Cost Meals

1075 low-income seniors have received prepared food that is available at a cost of $2.00 per meal.

Access to Services

30 were supported with case management services that helped them access additional services.
